Area Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is comprised of eight members, four representatives from each association. They are elected at the annual meetings of our associations and serve for a three-year term. The moderator for each association is automatically on the Steering Committee. This committee is charged with the oversight of our collective work, which we call the South Central Baptist Area. They meet at least twice a year. Once in the spring for evaluation, alternating year-to-year between evaluating staff and the the work of the SCBA. They meet once again in the fall to put together a proposed SCBA budget for the next year. When the SCBA is without a Director of Missions, the Steering Committee functions as a DOM Search Committee. The chair of this committee rotates between the two moderators each year. There is also a Vice-Chair and Recording Secretary.
